Working with Kleiberit water-resistant glue: key steps
Clean surfaces
Carpentry work should begin with proper surface preparation. The materials must be acclimatized by letting them stand in a room with a stable temperature. The surfaces must be cleaned of dirt, degreased, and thoroughly dried.
Bonding is recommended at temperatures between +18 °C and +20 °C. For interior woodwork, the wood moisture content should be 8-10%. For window frame manufacturing, wood with a moisture content of 10-14% is used.
Proper adhesive application
For effective bonding, single-sided application is usually sufficient. When working with exotic or dense hardwoods, applying the glue to both sides is recommended.
Using a press
To achieve the best bonding quality, use a press. Before pressing, make sure that all parts are positioned correctly, as adjustments cannot be made once the press is engaged.
When bonding lamellas or laminated wood, the pressing pressure is 0.7-1 N/mm2.
Storage conditions
Store D3 water-resistant glue in a tightly closed container at temperatures up to +20ºC. The formulation is frost-resistant and can withstand temperatures down to -30 oC. Shelf life is 12 months.
