What is an MDF frame moulding?

Veneered frame moulding is a product manufactured from MDF board and natural oak, alder, or ash veneer. The component is cut from medium-density fiberboard and then precision-milled. The blank is shaped, and the necessary mounting grooves are milled into the edges. The product marking depends on the groove type.

The finished piece is veneered to achieve an attractive, high-end appearance. The surface of the natural veneer preserves the original grain pattern and color palette of the wood, which designers frequently incorporate into their concepts. Wood-veneered mouldings can be tinted, varnished, oiled, or waxed.
