Natural veneer matching methods

Veneer matching: book match (mirror)
The veneer face is assembled from a single flitch (bundle). To create a book-matched pattern, every second veneer leaf is flipped 180° back-side up.
Veneer matching: slip match
The veneer face is assembled from a single veneer pack. Each consecutive sheet is laid without flipping.
Veneer face matching: Book match
The veneer face is assembled from a single veneer pack. The pattern is formed by flipping every second sheet lengthwise by 180°, back side facing up.
Veneer face matching: Reverse match

The veneer face is assembled from a single veneer pack. The pattern is created by rotating every other sheet by 180° with the face side up. Reverse matching ensures a uniform grain pattern and tone across the panel.

Veneer face matching: Mixed match
The veneer face is assembled from several veneer packs. Sheets are chosen randomly: from the same or different cuts, with or without tone consistency. The pattern is created according to the customer’s preferences.
Veneer face matching: Mismatch

The veneer face is assembled from packs of veneer from the same log. Sheets with matching coloration but varying grain textures are combined.

Cutting layout and cutting of oak veneered MDF boards

A properly prepared cutting layout allows you to produce parts of the required dimensions and calculate the exact amount of material needed. A cutting diagram helps prevent errors when cutting veneered panels and speeds up the production process. The technical documentation takes into account the specifics of cutting faced MDF. For instance, before cutting, the board is trimmed along the perimeter by approximately 1 cm to eliminate potential manufacturing irregularities and square the edges. Additionally, the saw kerf takes up about 3 mm, and edge-banded parts must be reduced by 2 mm on each edge.

Our specialists provide detailed part planning with grain pattern matching and perform high-quality cutting of veneered MDF panels without chipping or other defects.
