American walnut veneered MDF is a material widely used in the furniture industry and in fitting out interiors. Fibreboard panels are made from a mixture of milled wood and binders. MDF sheets faced with American walnut veneer are used to make:

  1. Furniture. One of the main qualities of shelving units, chests of drawers, wardrobes and tables built from veneered MDF is how decorative they are. The textured surface and deep shades lend dressing tables, bureaux and shelves a particular elegance.
  2. Wall and ceiling panels. Natural wood with a pronounced figure is exactly what wall and ceiling finishes call for. Wall and ceiling panels faced with walnut look striking in living rooms and libraries as much as in bedrooms and studies.
  3. Doors and architectural elements. Veneered MDF is made into doors, arches, screens, window sills and room dividers that make a space more comfortable, more practical and more functional.

What sets veneered MDF apart

Fibreboard has been used for more than half a century to make furnishings for private homes and public buildings. A material of medium strength, it works extremely well and meets strict environmental safety standards. Composite panels have much in common with particle board, but a different way of processing the raw material gives them better working properties. American walnut veneered MDF is also notable for an interesting figure that suits dozens of interior styles.

Buying MDF for furniture or fittings is the right decision for several reasons. Joiners single out the following properties of veneered pressed board:

Sufficient density and strength The mass that goes into the press is almost uniform, so there are no gaps or voids between the fibres. Properly finished panels are strong enough to take the everyday loads of a home.
Dimensional stability Items made from American walnut veneered MDF hold their shape and do not shrink under small swings in room temperature and humidity.
Easy to work Buying MDF is a sound choice because the material works easily. Curved parts, or parts of any other shape, can be cut from the board.
Environmentally sound Fibreboard panels count as a green material, since the binder used to bond the fibres is of natural origin. Our online shop stocks class A MDF, available to buy anywhere in Ukraine. The marking indicates a formaldehyde content that is safe for health. Such sheets are allowed in bedrooms, children’s rooms, studies, kitchens, living rooms and other spaces.
Good looks A sheet faced with natural wood needs no further decoration. A pronounced figure will look right in a modern interior as much as in a classic one.

American walnut veneered MDF panels are used for more than cabinet fronts. The sheets are also made into internal doors, screens, dividers, wall and ceiling panels and other fittings.

American walnut veneered MDF panels: the production stages

MDF is made from sawdust obtained from timber-processing waste and from trees scheduled for felling. The stages of production come down to the following:

  • the sawdust is chipped and treated with steam;
  • the resulting wood mass is ground in a defibrator and then dried;
  • the ground fibre is combined with lignin (a polymer of natural origin), paraffin wax and other additives;
  • the mixture is compacted in a hopper and passes onto the conveyor;
  • the material is rolled out and worked by the press;
  • during pressing the board is heated and, under heat, becomes stronger and denser;
  • at the last stage of pressing the pressure is reduced and the thickness of the board is set;
  • the blanks cool, and are then sanded and cut;
  • American walnut veneer is bonded to the finished panels on dedicated equipment.

What American walnut veneer is like

American walnut is prized for its pronounced figure and rich colour range. The contrasting lines of the annual rings form a crisp grain pattern whose beauty stains and lacquers bring out. The face can take on a wide variety of shades. Milky, honey, light brown, sandy, cream, reddish and chocolate tones are the most common.

Our online shop stocks veneered MDF panels priced according to the size of the board. Fibreboard sheets are available 9 mm, 17 mm and 19 mm thick, 2.8 m long and 2.07 m wide. Check availability, delivery times and payment options with our managers when placing an order.
