We are pleased to introduce a new addition to our product range: full-stave colored (olive) ash solid wood panels. This material is widely used to manufacture stairs, window sills, countertops, bar counters, cabinet furniture, beds, shelving units, shelves, stools, and various interior decor elements. The key advantages of solid wood panels include stability, aesthetic appeal, wear resistance, and ease of machining. Below, we examine the panel specifications and the qualities that deliver these performance characteristics in detail.
What Are Full-Stave Solid Wood Panels?

Solid Wood Panels are panel materials made from edge-glued wooden staves (lamellas). By construction, panels are either full-stave or finger-jointed. Both varieties are available in our catalogue.

This material is made from full-length ash staves matched for grain and glued edge-to-edge along their length. Key characteristics of the panel include:

Finger-Jointed Oak Solid Wood Panels are produced by jointing and gluing short wood blocks. The staves are staggered and bonded along both length and width. This creates a stable, durable panel. An additional benefit is lower cost due to more efficient raw material utilization. However, finger-jointed panels have a visible “patchwork” pattern, as matching short staves for tone and grain is not feasible. This visual style may not suit every project. |
Dimensions of Full-Stave Olive Ash Solid Wood Panels
We offer full-stave ash panels to craftsmen with the following specifications:
- thickness: 20 mm, 40 mm;
- width: 0.65 m;
- length: 0.6–3 m;
- grade: Grade 1.

Ash solid wood panels with a thickness of 20 mm are in stock in our warehouse.
We manufacture 40 mm solid wood panels to order: face-gluing two 20 mm panels creates a “sandwich” panel.
We offer rough cross-cutting for transport as an additional service.
What Is the Optimal Stave Width in Solid Wood Panels?
Full-stave panels use staves of varying widths. Typically, staves 20–30 mm wide are selected for glued panels; this is the most common configuration. Panels with wide staves—around 40–50 mm—are also available.
From an aesthetic perspective, wide-stave panels have a clear advantage. The wider the staves, the fewer the glue joints, making the surface look much closer to a solid slab. However, wide-stave panels offer slightly lower structural stability under load. For instance, when building a bookcase with long full-stave shelves, experienced joiners recommend incorporating additional shelf supports into the design.
